I grew up with a family that supported the arts. They influenced my involvement with the arts throughout my life. As a result, I attended an arts-intensive high school and then the College of Visual Arts (CVA) in Saint Paul.

At CVA I discovered printmaking and after graduating I started to use what I had learned in my paintings. I treat the canvas as a plate or block; full of difficult and final decisions. I use a combination of needle work, gesso and washes of primary colors to create texture and compositions. I have taken the theme of printmaking one step further by creating giclée prints made of my paintings.
